Working with the Council of Forest Industries on their Asia wood marketing initiative, Lindsay designed a demonstration project that highlights the use of wood in landscape design, in this case pressure treated, dimensional lumber with a mix of other materials. This pocket park is intended to be an eye-catching statement, as well as a functional public space, providing shade along the waterfront of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, China. A series of predominantly wood shade structures with metal frames and bright yellow, UV resistant Lexan sheets provide shade and an informal meeting place adjacent to a war memorial at one end and a restaurant at the other.
